Change is hard!

2020.  The number alone implies perfect vision, focus, clarity.  Every new year feels like a fresh start, but this one seemed even more promising.  I know I was optimistic about a good year ahead.  The past few have been tough for me, personally.  After losing my job in a company-wide layoff, my mother-in-law and both of my parents passed away.  Those years have certainly had some bright spots as well, but this year still felt like it would be different.

And then, boom.  Different is right!  2020 hit hard, with the stuff of Hollywood imaginations.  It came seemingly out of nowhere, and continues to have effects we never could have predicted.

But maybe 2020 is providing the fresh start we were looking for after all.  It has made us slow down, feel uncomfortable, take a look around, spend time with those closest to us, reconnect with others, regroup.  While this year has already been more difficult for some than others, it has forced us all to change in some way.

Maybe while isolating, it’s causing us to unite in new ways.  It’s certainly a year to reflect, listen, recognize what’s important, and learn from one another.

This year has given me the chance to look forward, begin something new, and share inspiration with others, even when we can’t be together.  Through Life by Lesley, I will continue to do so (even if it’s just a great sale!), and I look forward to you sharing with me as well.

So, here’s to a new start, finding the joy in each day, knowing that we are all in this together.

Cheers!

Lesley
